About products and suppliers

LED cabinet lights are lights that are installed under cabinets, particularly kitchen cabinets. They enhance visibility and create aesthetic appeal. They brighten an area by producing a gentle, attractive beam of light. Although kitchen cabinet lighting is the most frequently used, under-cabinet LED lighting may be installed virtually anywhere there are cabinets. This includes bathrooms, restaurants, hotel rooms, offices, etc. This lighting technique is preferred by homeowners, contractors, and business owners with restaurants or offices.

Main Types of Under-Cabinet LED Lighting

There are three main types of under-cabinet lighting. The puck lights were among the first to be used. They are cylindrical with a diameter of 2-3 inches, and mostly use xenon or halogen lamps. The modern ones, however, are the LED puck lights which are preferred due to their low energy consumption. Some use batteries, avoiding the need for electrical wires.

The other type of under-counter lighting is the under-cabinet light bars. Unlike puck lights, which create light “hotspots”. The LED bar lights and LED strip lights distribute light more evenly along their length. Additionally, they can be connected by cables to enable the entire lighting system to be controlled by a single switch. Another type of under kitchen cabinet lighting is the LED strip also referred to as Tape lights. They are a simple and affordable choice. They can fit in small areas due to their compact shape.

Wireless vs. Hardwired Under Cabinet LED Lighting

LED cabinet lighting options can be hardwired, plug-in, and wireless. These options will depend on your cabinet setup, budget, or preferences. The under-cabinet lighting hardwired requires an electrician to install or wire them under your cabinet or during construction. This is because they have visible electrical cables. Plug-in lights are simple to install; they require one to be close to an outlet. Wireless under-cabinet lighting options use battery power but are often easy to remove, which makes them perfect for rental setups.
