About products and suppliers

The word “Velcro” comes from the well-known name of the person who invented this material and usually leads people to think about zippers, buttons, and other fashion-related items. In reality, industrial-strength Velcro is not only a product for the apparel and clothes manufacturing industries.

Industrial Velcro, also called “industrial strength fastener,” refers to straps made of nylon or polyolefin featuring a hook-and-loop mechanism that adheres when pressed together and separates when pulled apart, accompanied by a characteristic sound. The greater the density of the hooks and loops, the greater the adhesion provided by industrial-strength Velcro tape.

Industrial Velcro tape boasts unique properties: it is durable and functional, provides excellent adhesion, and some are even designed for up to 1000 opening and closing cycles. Furthermore, industrial-strength Velcro strips can be used for both detachable and permanent connections.

Applying industrial-strength Velcro

The application process of industrial Velcro strips consists of three stages. The first step is surface preparation and includes cleaning, degreasing (with isopropyl alcohol), and, in some cases, priming the surfaces onto which industrial Velcro will be applied.

Once the surfaces are prepared, the second application stage consists of fixing the two sides of the industrial-strength Velcro tape onto the surfaces by removing the protective film and attaching each strip while avoiding the formation of air bubbles and waves. In some cases, super glue and stitches can be used to stick industrial Velcro tape, but under no circumstances the adhesive matter should be applied to the hook-and-loop mechanism.

As the last step of this process, the two industrial-strength Velcro strips are pressed together by hand or using a roll or another device to achieve a firm grip. The strips can be pulled apart to detach the two surfaces when required.

The uses of industrial Velcro

Industrial Velcro straps are versatile and can be used in various applications, from material handling and packaging to robotics and advertising.

Of course, small industrial Velcro strips can appear on watch straps, visors, helmets, belts, and other protective clothing items and wearable devices that should be able to stay attached firmly and, if needed, be detached quickly in case of danger.

Industrial strength Velcro is also widely used to hang objects onto walls and other surfaces – from fixing watches, pictures, and paintings without drilling walls to attaching anti-glare visors and document holders to a computer monitor and even posters and billboards to their stands.

Also, industrial-strength Velcro tape is used to fasten components during transportation of items, parts, and components and is relevant in welding and heat-resistant coatings.
