About products and suppliers

A laminating machine is used to prevent wear and tear of a document or photo by covering it on both sides with a sticky film. Machine laminating prevents wrinkling and smearing and waterproofs documents and photos, thereby increasing their lifespan. A paper laminating machine attaches the plastic film to the document or photo using heat. Search for cheap laminating machines on Alibaba.com for home or industrial use.

Categories of laminating machine

Laminator machines are categorized according to how they process their prints, that is, laminators that use film, those that use UV liquid, and pouch laminators. The most common and user-friendly are laminators that use pouches and films. Laminators that use UV filters may require expertise when it comes to operation. A hot or thermal laminator contains rollers that get heated up when in use. The heated rollers generate a temperature that, in turn, heat the pouch or film and then bond the document fed to the pouch or film.

A pressure-sensitive laminator or a cold laminating machine has rollers that apply pressure to the pouch or film to seal the item but stay cold when in use. A cold laminator is used mostly on vinyl and adhesive products to avoid damage on products that heating may cause damage to the item being laminated. A laminator machine can be single-sided. The most popular items that are usually laminated on this type of lamination machine are flyers, leaflets, business cards, and many more. Larger items such as banners and posters can be laminated using film laminators instead of pouch ones due to the standard length that comes with the pouch.

Choosing a laminating machine

Before purchasing a laminator, it is prudent for the buyer to match its performance with the organization's needs such as quality of output, price, size of items to be laminated, speed as well as capacity. A small laminating machine can be handy in homes and small offices, especially where fewer items such as report covers, IDs, business cards, restaurant menus, certificates, and others are laminated. It can be found in A3 or A4 size. A4 is the most common and is suitable for fewer items that are A4 and below in size. A3 is suitable for large printed materials such as posters, signages, photos, and large display materials that require protection from adverse weather. A heavy-duty laminating machine can withstand constant usage well. Variation will depend on whether it is required to produce multiple items at the same time, the output per hour, and the quality of work needed. A large laminating machine is the ideal choice for commercial use.
