About products and suppliers

A nitrogen gas cylinder provides industrial-strength storage for nitrogen gas. Nitrogen gas is used to pressurize pipelines, which helps achieve better flow. It is also widely used in chemical analysis to prepare samples, production of fertilizers, fabrics, and dye, and in cleaning pipe systems via nitrogen purging.

Benefits of a nitrogen gas cylinder

A nitrogen bottle is built to store high-pressure gases. The cylindrical body is made of materials such as carbon steel, molybdenum steel, aluminum, or a composite of aluminum and carbon fiber. These tanks are double-walled containers that have a vacuum in the space between the inner and outer cylinders. Stainless steel cylinders are resistant to corrosion, durable, and inexpensive. It is important that these cylinders have pressure release valves, which help ease any pressure build-up and sealing systems and maintain the correct pressure level. These valves also inhibit potential contaminants from entering the cylinder and mixing with the stored nitrogen.

Applications of the nitrogen gas cylinder

Storing nitrogen gas requires a nitrogen tank that should be handled and transported in an upright position. A nitrogen cylinder can store up to 230 cubic feet (cu ft) of nitrogen gas at a maximum operating pressure of 2,200 psi if the cylinder is full. There are many nitrogen gas cylinder sizes and volumes, each having its own nitrogen capacity and matching operating pressures. Businesses and industries that require the use of a nitrogen gas tank include laboratories, healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, stainless steel production factories, and food processing plants. Their operations require various nitrogen gas cylinder sizes to meet their nitrogen gas requirements. A small nitrogen gas cylinder, also known as a small nitrogen bottle, is approximately 15 to 20 cu ft with a diameter of 5.25''. Other tank sizes range from a 40 cu ft nitrogen tank to cylinders over 200 cu ft.
