Usually, most graphite shafts have a torque of seven or eight degrees, while steel ones range from two to four degrees. The higher the torque rating, the more the shaft can twist during a swing. The torque also determines how roller gear feels in your hand. A shaft with higher torque will feel much softer than one with a low torque rating.
