Epoxy Polyester Hybrid Electrostatic Powder Coatings is based on a mixture of solid epoxy and polyester binders.At elevated temperatures the powders will melt, cure and form the final paint film.It is formulated to provide glossy or satin finish having very good flow-out, overbake yellowing resistance and mechanical properties.Texture and wrinkle finishing is also available.The outstanding decorative and protective properties are utilised in a wide range of indoor applications.
USAGE AND APPLICATIO
Epoxy Polyester Hybrid Electrostatic Powder Coating are suitable for coating metal industry products, such as lighting fixtures, apparatuses, wire gratings and refrigerating fixtures, domestic appliances eg. Refrigerators & microwave ovens, home and office furniture,electrical trunkings, light fixtures, shelvings, machinery, ceiling panels, switchboards etc.
The mechanical and chemical resistance as well as the anticorrosive properties of Epoxy Polyester Hybrid Powder Coating are almost equal to those of epoxies.On outdoor exposure epoxy/polyester powders in general, have a tendency towards matting down (chalking) similar to that of pure epoxies. On the other hand, its tendency to yellow on overbaking and exposure to heat and ultraviolet light is minor as compared with epoxy powders.
Specific gravity .: 1,25 - 1,70 kg/dmÄ depending on colour Spreading rate : 4 - 15 mÅ/kg depending on the film thickness Packages 15 kg or 20 kg according to the specific gravity of the powder. Storage In dry and cool conditions.
Applied by : electrostatic spraying using classic devices, which can provide a negative tension of 60 - 80 kV.
The powder is cured in a suitable convection or infra red oven.
Curing schedule :15 minutes at 180℃ (metal temperature )
Optimal film thickness : 60 -90 um
In order to obtain optimal anti-corrosion properties, it is recommended to apply a chemical pretreatment prior to powder coating application. Ferrous metals(cold rolled steel, cast iron etc.): Iron or zinc phosphatation Zinc surfaces(galvanized steel, zinc alloy) : Chromatation or zinc phosphatation Aluminum alloys : Chromatation
Should be stored under dry conditions with good ventilation at a temperature not exceeding 30 C.Storage period recommended should not exceed 6 months,in case exceeding 6 months without affecting their free flowing properties, the powder will still have optimal characteristics.Should be protected from excessive heat,humidity,water and contamination with foreign materials
such as powder, dust, dirt, etc.Any leftover powder should be kept in an appropriate area that is cool and dry. Do not expose to the air too long as the powder properties may deteriorate with the moisture.
