Jeans are a staple in most people's wardrobes and for good reason. They are versatile, long lasting, can be dressed up to suit many occasions and are extremely flattering if you know how to pick them.

What jeans are best for my body type?

We all have unique body types and as such what looks good on one person might not look good on another, which is why finding the right jeans for your body is important.

High rise jeans or high-waist jeans are jeans with waistbands that cinches the smallest part of your natural waist, usually just above your belly button. This type of jeans is great for slender, athletic looking people or slender hourglass shaped bodies. It is also flattering for women with a bigger butt. This type of jeans also makes the legs look longer and is great for shorter ladies looking for a leg lengthening effect.

Low rise jeans, as the name suggests, sits a bit lower than the high rise jeans. They make the legs look shorter and because of this, they're not the most flattering jeans for shorter women. However, this jeans is great for curvier women because it accentuates their hips. It is also a great choice for tall women with shorter torsos as it makes the torso appear longer thus giving a balancing appearance to the figure.

Mid rise jeans is flattering for all body types. And, as its name suggests, it sits midway between the belly button and hips.

How to dress up jeans

The truth is that jeans is quite synonymous with casual wear. But, this does not mean that it cannot be dressed up if the need arises.

One simple way to spruce up your jeans is with a statement footwear such as a stiletto.

Another classic way to spruce up jeans is with a great looking white shirt; there is just something about the staple white shirt and a pair of jeans that just catches the eye.

Going for a semi-formal look? Then throw on a suit jacket.

With a great pair of jeans, the possibilities are endless.
