About products and suppliers

Silk fabrics can vary from soft and drapery to crisp and stiff. One of the great benefits of silk twill fabric is its wonderful drape and excellent durability for its weight. This is also one of the key qualities that make it a rather popular choice for many fashion designers and manufacturers. Silk twill fabric with print can be used for items such as scarves, shawls, neck scarves, head scarves, skirts, ties, etc. Printed silk twill fabric and botanical print silk twill fabric can be used to make stylish and soft decorations like curtains, upholstery for furniture, and bedding. Silk twill fabrics by the yard with different printings could be the secret weapons to transform from rags to riches.

Can you customize silk twill fabric?

You can feature white silk twill fabrics with a design or print that has been dyed in a localized or patterned area. Different from standard inkjet printing on paper, silk needs to be pre-treated before being printed. The silk needs to be coated to accept ink and absorb color, which requires the use of an external fabric finisher, to ensure the expected outcome. Silk twill fabrics with print are less common than printed plain weaves. When customized silk twill fabrics are printed, this is typically done on lightweight silk twill fabrics.

What is the difference between plain weave and silk twill fabric?

Unlike plain weave, in which two sides are the same, lightweight silk twill fabric with print usually has a front and a backside. The front side of the sick twill is the technical face, while its back is called the technical back. The technical face of a twill weave fabric is more durable, more attractive, and often used as the fashion side of the fabric and the side visible during weaving. Sheer fabrics are rarely made with a twill weave because a twill surface is already equipped with interesting texture and design.
