Advantages of titanium bike frames

As a titanium bicycle frame is less dense than steel, a titanium tube is about half the weight of a steel tube of the same tensile strength, making a frameset lighter while still having thicker-walled tubes. Titanium bike frame vs. carbon bike frame

Despite the fact that carbon fiber frames are lighter than titanium frames and have a better strength-to-weight ratio, it isn't quite as strong as titanium bike frames. Titanium bike frames are much more durable than carbon ones because titanium is a much less brittle material. During hard impact, a titanium bicycle frame is less likely to crack, dent or bend. While for a more rigid carbon fiber frame, most of that energy transmits through the frame and into the rider's body, making the ride harsher.
