About products and suppliers

A door knob is a component of a door used to open and close it. It is a handle attached to a door, allowing for easy door operation.

Types of Unique Door Knobs

Door knobs have two knobs, one on either side of the door. Door knobs have two styles, sprung and unsprung. Sprung doorknobs include a spring mechanism that returns the knob to its original position. Unsprung door knobs operate on a turn and release mechanism. This mechanism allows the doorknob to rotate in either direction.

Passage door knobs are non-locking door knobs used on doors where privacy or security is not a concern. They do not have a locking mechanism and are used on interior doors. Privacy door knobs are designed for rooms where privacy is desired, such as bedrooms or bathrooms. They have a locking mechanism that can be engaged by turning a thumb turn or push button on the inside of the knob. Privacy door knobs often come with an emergency release feature that allows the door to be unlocked from the outside.

Keyed entry door knobs are used on exterior doors, such as front doors or back doors, where security is a concern. They have a locking mechanism that requires a key to lock or unlock the door from the outside. From the inside, they usually have a thumb turn or push button to operate the lock. Dummy door knobs are non-functional door knobs used for decorative purposes. They do not have a latch or locking mechanism and are fixed in place.
